Personalized Workout Programs
Whether you want to learn to run and complete your first 5k or compete as an elite triathlete, Personal Best can provide monthly programs to help you achieve your goals. Using the Smart Training Technique developed by Personal Best, programs are periodized over a year and developed so you don't over-train but achieve your goals injury free. The STT is based on the latest research in the field and gets you to where you want to go. This service is also provided online.
Initial Assessment
During the first meeting information is gathered about your personal health history, your goals, past accomplishments and an overall plan of action is developed based on time and availability. Generally this is done at a coffee shop at a convenient location. $40/40 min
Single Sport Programs in Swim, Bike or Run
For athletes who want to get faster, go the long distance or learn how to train. A periodized annual program will be developed to meet your training and racing goals. Ideal for those chasing a P.B., doing a marathon or competing in a target race. Includes 10 week program, email support and a goal setting consultation. $125/per 10 week program
Triathlon/Duathlon Programs
Reach your goals and learn to train like the pro's. Follow the smart training technique developed by Personal Best for beginners to elites. Includes annual periodized training plan, 10 week program, email support and goal setting consultation. $150/per 10 week program
Lactate Heart Rate Zone Assessment
Ever wondered what your true personal heart rate training zones are? The charts you see on the wall are a basic guideline but everyone is genetically different. Using lactate zone testing you will discover exactly what heart rates your should be at and when. During the test small finger prick samples are taken to test exactly how much lactic acid is in the blood at different levels of exercise. Assessments can be done on a treadmill or your personal road bike and a Computrainer or at the Ottawa Sports Performance Centre. $175/90 minutes
Bike Coaching and Open Water Swim Coaching
Sharpen your cornering, gearing, climbing or descending on the bike. Learn sighting, drafting, wet-suit swimming and swimming straight in open water. $85/hour
Private Swimming Lessons
Slow down and learn to get faster. Julia coaches using the Total ImmersionTM drills. Improve your stroke and learn to swim efficiently. Lessons are offered over the noon hour Monday-Friday. $60/50 minute lesson
Personal Strength and Conditioning Training Program
Personal Training is for the client who wants an overall strength and conditioning program to make them stronger, more flexible and/or increase their cardiovascular fitness. Training may be done in the comfort of your own home or at the Ottawa Sports Performance Centre on Lancaster Rd. After an initial assessment to develop your program, we meet to start your program. $85/hour
